Like most great things, it started by filling a need.
Barbara H. Morris, founder of Smooth Transitions®, recognized a growing need for compassionate, professional support after helping her own family move from their longtime home into independent living.
In 1995, Barbara built on more than 20 years in the health care industry to bring that same level of care, patience, and professionalism to the moving and downsizing process. What began as a mission to help families through a difficult transition has since grown into an international brand. Barbara personally trains every location owner and continues to provide ongoing education through the Smooth Transitions Academy.
Her leadership and service have been recognized by the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM), which awarded her the organization’s highest honor—the Margit Novack Award of Excellence.
Today, every Smooth Transitions location carries forward Barbara’s original standard: compassionate guidance, professional execution, and exceptional quality from start to finish.
